I had lots of fun with the grandkids making the miniature fairy garden in our back ground at the base of a tree stump. We dug up moss from our forest area and added white rocks and a round piece of wood for a door to the tree.  Other types of moss made fluffy trees.  We added yellow rubber duckies on the side. We used twigs to start making a fence.

During my walk at lunch time across the Selkirk Tressle

Walkway  in Victoria BC

I looked down in the water  and saw this bird. It is a Tufted Merganser male duck. So beautiful

Vintage unfinished grandmothers garden quilt

This is a piece of an vintage unfinished  grandmothers garden quilt.   It looks to be from around 1902 as one of the paper piecing bits has that date on it. Ihave numerous pieced groups like this.  I obtained this from a friend in Seattle Washington, it belonged to his late wife.  I am interested in selling  the pieces, if you want more information, send me your comment and I will provide more details.

Rememberance Day In Canada Nov 11

Remembering all service men and women and all vets, that stand on guard, so we can live this wonderful "free" life in CANADA.
I can't imagine what they have gone thru or sacrificed. But... we honour them and will never forget.
REMEMBERING YOU DAD, and what you sacrificed during the 5 long years you were overseas. I can't  image how strong and brave you must have been.
A tribute to my dad who served in the ROYAL Canadian Army.  He was so proud to be a Canadian, and proud of the Canadian Red Ensign Flag.

We recently took a short cruise to Vancouver to Los Angeles, so relaxing. Lots to do on board and the Golden Princess Crew were fabulous as usual.  This was the best ever sail away.  Leaving Vancouver downtown harbour what a stunning and awesome view. . On the port  side of the ship was downtown Vancovuer and then the famous Stanley Park, on the  starboard side was the beautiful Grouse Mountain,  and West Vancouver. The most spectacular view  was going under the Lions Gate Bridge out to the Juan de Fuca straight heading towards Vancouver Island and the open waters of the Pacific.

The welcome mat was out in our cabin C 318 - Champagne anyone, and a rose!

Made myself a new lunch bag out of some material that has been in my stash for years.   I really don't know what to do with this kind of material that has flowers and vegetables all over it.
